What & Why NeuroSpinology?

What is NeuroSpinology?

NeuroSpinology is a profession focused on the dynamic relationship between spinal movement and neural function.  When the connective tissues that bind the bones of the spine together are damaged, there are inevitable changes to the movement capacity between them.  These changes have ramifications for the spinal cord and  spinal nerve roots that are housed within the spinal column.

Why NeuroSpinology?

Unlike Chiropractors, PhysioTherapists & Massage Therapists, NeuroSpinologists use their hands gently to apply highly specific techniques around the spinal column for the purpose of stimulating and enhancing the neural circuits associated with the damaged areas.  Consistent stimulation of these circuits expands their capability, thus enabling the nervous system, and the body as a whole, to perform at optimum levels.

The Opportunity

As Australia’s population continues to age and ever-increasing levels of debilitation occur across all age groups, the demand for improved wellness and functionality increases, as does the demand for the services of NeuroSpinologists. There has never been a better time to change careers and seize a new, brighter, future.

Advanced Diploma of NeuroSpinology to be offered in Partnership between Academy of Functional Sciences and Patrick Careers Academy

The Academy of Functional Sciences has entered into a partnership that will see the 10142NAT Advanced Diploma of NeuroSpinology delivered with, and conferred by, Patrick Careers Academy. Mr Bevan McPherson, the CEO of Patrick Careers Academy expressed his excitement at the new partnership: “Patrick Careers Academy, formerly St Patricks Institute of Education, is the oldest continually operating private college in NSW and has built a reputation for outstanding student support and graduate placement for almost 100 years. We see the partnership with the Academy of Functional Sciences as an ideal fit. Specifically, the addition of such a valued and dynamic course as the Advanced Diploma of NeuroSpinology to our scope of delivery brings a point of difference from any other college. We are the only registered training organisation with the authority to deliver this course and issue this nationally accredited qualification, something that we are very proud of and excited about.”

The course will be partially delivered online and partially at the Patrick Careers Academy campus in Pitt St, Sydney.

NeuroSpinology course gains Australian government accreditation

In November 2015 the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national training regulator, gave final approval for the accreditation of the NeuroSpinology training programme. The course can now be found on the national training register at training.gov.au. The course code and title is 10142NAT Advanced Diploma of NeuroSpinology. Congratulations to all involved and thanks to the many in the NeuroSpinology profession and from the academic world who have worked so hard to achieve this tremendous result. Special thanks to Amjad Khanche, Principal of the Australian Institute of Professional Education (AIPE), Stephen Davies, Academic Director of AIPE, Scott Mulligan, Director of Student Services at the NeuroSpinology Academy, and Isil Sam, Anurag Kanwar, Susan Briggs, Judith Bowler, Adam Carswell, Catherine Le Meur and Stanley Afeaki.
