Entry Requirements
Applicants are assessed by an interview process. Students should have a good command of English and also be willing to dedicate themselves to the pursuit of high professional academic and practical standards. Pre-requisites are Higher School Certificate or equivalent, or mature age.
Students come from as far afield as New Zealand, Europe, South Africa, Asia, the USA and South America as well as from all parts of Australia. Some are professionals looking for a more exciting and rewarding career, while others are straight from school or mature age students.
Assessment Procedures
Assessment procedures include written examinations (multiple choice, short answer & essay style), practical assessments, oral examinations and assessments by practice Supervisors during the course of module delivery. Panel-style Board exams are undertaken at the entry and exit points to Student Practice. The Entrance Board is designed to determine the student’s suitability to begin dealing directly with members of the public under supervision, while the Exit Board is the final assessment of the student’s readiness for full professional practice.
There is a series of major assignments covering each of the core modules, as well as the workbooks and assignments built into the training manuals.
Students will be required at times to deliver classroom presentations on various subjects.
